There are 2 new programs available to home owners who need help with their Chattanooga home repair.
1 of the programs is to help put new roofs on Chattanooga homes. The Chattanooga Community Housing Development (CCHDO) is offering forgivable grants to replace the roofs of homeowners who financially qualify for the grant. The funding comes from a federally funded Community Development Block Grant. It is a 5 year forgivable 2nd mortgage on the home to those who make less than 80% of the Chattanooga median income. To apply for the program, call 423-668-9804 and ask about the “Roof Replacement Program.”
The other program is to help replace lead pipes in Chattanooga homes. The US Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) has given $1.6 million to Chattanooga to confront lead pipes in homes. That would replace the lead pipes in 75 Chattanooga homes according to the Chattanooga Times Free Press.
