Chattanooga’s Riverwalk is over 20 miles long.  The City of Chattanooga has continued to expand the Riverwalk over the past 10 years.  The most recent project took the Riverwalk from Riverside Dr to St Elmo Ave at the foot of Lookout Mountain.  The Lookout Mountain Conservancy and the Federal Park worked to connect the Riverwalk to hundreds of miles of trails on Lookout Mountain. From Riverside Dr, the Riverwalk goes north as well to the Chickamauga Dam.  On that end of the Riverwalk, one can take the South Chickamauga Creek extension that will extend as far as Camp Jordan in East Ridge in the years to come. The downtown waterfront blue print, “could spur $750 million in development,” according to the Chattanooga Times Free Press on 5/22/16. Downtown, hotels, apartments, condos, and revitalized neighborhoods have all sprung up over the past 15 years.

The Scenic City continues to create a better and better lifestyle for businesses to attract new employees.  The Erlanger hospital system is also working on improving their facilities and partnering with the Vanderbilt medical system.  Erlanger hospital is already in the top 100 hospitals in the US.  Erlanger Children’s Hospital is also raising funds to build their own separate facility to attract even better doctors to the children’s hospital.

The Hamilton Co. school board has also improved several of the local schools in the area over the past 10 years.  If you want to see and interactive school rating map then click here to get info on how the schools in Hamilton Co. rank.
